The Haunted Bookshop

I’ve done it again. I got The Haunted Bookshop at the recommendation of somebody or other in some blog or other and now I want to go back and see who it was and I can’t find it. I’m torn between bookmarking everything and tagging it 10 ways from Sunday and actually finishing something. It’s too frustrating.

Ray Bradbury, love and libraries

I saw Bradbury a couple of years ago and he was amazing.

Libraries — many originally sponsored by Andrew Carnegie — were once the Internet of their time, whisking a reader away across space and time to adventure, to satisfy curiosity, or to foster love and understanding, even of the unknown. Libraries are still capable of doing this, but the times have changed. Instead of being the symbol of community pride, many towns have been allowing their literacy legacies fade away.
